Driveway sealing cost on the Central Coast.
A straight answer on what driveway sealing actually costs here in 2026, by surface and finish, with worked examples for real Central Coast suburbs and the factors that move the price.
The short answer.
Sealing a driveway on the Central Coast costs $6 to $26 per square metre depending on the surface and the finish you choose. For a typical 60m² driveway that works out to roughly $400 to $1,500. The cheapest job is a penetrating seal on plain concrete, the dearest is a wet-look coat on exposed aggregate. Resurfacing, a bigger job that lays a new decorative surface, runs $45 to $90 per square metre.
Cost by surface.
- Plain concrete, penetrating seal: $6 to $11/m². The value choice, invisible, salt and UV stable.
- Coloured or stencilled concrete: $12 to $22/m². Decorative acrylic or polyurethane to restore colour and sheen.
- Pavers: $9 to $18/m². Includes re-sanding and stabilising the joints.
- Exposed aggregate: $14 to $26/m². Matte at the lower end, wet-look gloss at the upper.
- Anti-slip additive: add $4 to $8/m² to any of the above for slip-rated grip on a sloped driveway.
Three worked examples.
Gosford, 55m² plain concrete, first seal.
An East Gosford driveway that has never been sealed: pressure clean, degrease two oil spots, treat shaded moss, then a chloride-resistant penetrating seal. Around $600 to $1,000, done in a day. See driveway sealing in Gosford.
Terrigal, 60m² beachfront concrete, reseal.
A salt-exposed beachfront driveway needing a marine-grade penetrating reseal with a slip additive on the slope. Around $900 to $1,500, dearer because of the coastal-grade product. See driveway sealing in Terrigal.
Wyong, 70m² exposed aggregate, wet-look reseal.
A four-year-old new-build aggregate driveway gone dull and dusty: clean, dry, then two coats of UV-stable wet-look sealer. Around $1,100 to $1,800. See driveway sealing in Wyong.
What changes your price.
Five things move a quote within or beyond these ranges: the surface type, the finish you choose, how close you are to the water (salt exposure), the condition of the driveway (staining, moss and cracks all add prep), and the slope (steep driveways need an anti-slip additive). The honest way to nail it down is a free on-site measure. There is more detail on each surface in our concrete sealing, aggregate sealing and paver sealing pages, and the full rate card is on the pricing page.
Sealing versus replacing.
The reason sealing is worth it is the alternative. Letting a Central Coast driveway go bare in salt air leads to scaling, staining and dusting, and eventually a resurfacing job at $2,700 to $5,400, or a full demolition and re-pour at $9,000-plus. A few hundred dollars of sealing every few years protects that investment.
